Matteo Monzali
Bio
Matteo Monzali is a documentary photographer with a scientific background in physics. After his academic path, he decided to devote himself to photography, training professionally at Studio Marangoni in Florence and working as a photographer's assistant. This dual perspective, combining scientific rigour with a photographic eye, runs through all his work. He believes science communicates better through images than through data. A photograph, unlike a graph, raises questions before it gives answers, and reaches audiences in ways that numbers alone cannot. He specialises in environmental and scientific photography, depicting the relationship between humankind and nature with a direct approach. Alongside this, he undertakes experimental work with artificial intelligence applied to imagery, exploring new visual languages.
